REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN or
SKILLED EXPERIENCED VETERINARY ASSISTANT
We are currently hiring positive, enthusiastic, skilled professional team members at our busy spay neuter/wellness clinic.
We are a very successful high volume spay neuter clinic. We do over 5,000 surgeries a year plus see wellness patients.
We are currently seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians and Assistants that have experience in the field of veterinary medicine.
 
Our business hours are Monday through Friday 7 am to 5 pm daily.
No evenings, weekends or holidays...that's right NO evenings, weekends or holidays!
 Full or Part time AM/PM shifts.
 
Primary responsibilities include all aspects of customer service and education, physical examinations, surgical prep, wellness and surgery assistance, surgery monitoring and recovery Checks patient medical records for past histories, enters treatments and charges in computer. Restrain pets for blood draws, procedures, nail trims and examinations. Animal husbandry duties as well as housekeeping duties, all team members are expected to be able to clean a cage or clean up after pets and help wherever is needed keeping our clinic clean and neat.
All team members are expected to be friendly, knowledgeable about spay neuter and wellness and have ability to communicate with clients in person, on the phone and record medical notes on computer. You must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.   Staff is responsible for dispensing and administering medications as prescribed by veterinarians, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions. Practice limited to wellness, minor issues such as ear infections or seasonal skin allergies and spay neuter surgeries. Candidates must have genuine compassion for animals. They should be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to handle the emotional aspects of working in animal healthcare

 

This job is physically active and sometimes poop happens! You must have reliable transportation.  Ideal candidates will be reliant, dependable and have work ethic as well. We are a drug free workplace. We are a small business and treat people in our work family well. 

 

We work with many rescues, shelters and pounds. We work primarily with dogs and cats. We see a wide variety of animals everyday including feral cats, pound dogs, and shelter animals.
We occasionally also assist with humane cases. Having said that we see some odd, interesting, unusual and sometime heartbreaking cases. We do not see chronically ill, or major illness nor emergency patients. We may triage and refer cases for rescues, humane or shelters.

We have state of the art complete bloodwork equipment from Abaxis. We were the first veterinary clinic in NEO to receive the Imgyst diagnostic technology for parasitology, blood, cytology, urinalysis.  We were the clinic to receive first Opticell Hematology machine, and the first veterinary clinic in Ohio to get the new Vue Plus. Shortly, due to our volume of diagnostic testing, we will have a second Vue +.  You must be adept at collecting laboratory samples and processing them, we do a significant amount of bloodwork.

We are locally owned and operated. We are the valleys only privately owned and operated stand-alone spay neuter and wellness clinic. We have been in existence since 2007.
Salary to commensurate with experience and skill sets. We offer Aflac and after one year of service, paid vacation time for full time employees. We also offer assistance with CE for full time employees for RVTs. We do reward incentives for exceptional work.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB.
RVT current good standing license in Ohio.
Veterinary assistants are also needed with degree in Animal Science/Husbandry or work experience.
Having a certificate in humane euthanasia is also desirable for this position but not required.
