Thiel College is currently seeking full-time workers in our Facilities Department, including Environmental Service Workers (housekeeping) and a Maintenance Technician with Electrical/Plumbing Focus.
Environmental Service Workers are responsible for performing various day-to-day housekeeping services including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing floors, cleaning restrooms, and dusting in academic, event, and residential spaces, as well as performing any other reasonable duties as assigned.
The Maintenance Technician performs a range of general maintenance and repair duties to support safe, functional campus facilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing basic electrical and plumbing systems, completing preventative maintenance tasks, responding to routine and emergency work orders, and assisting with carpentry, painting, and other building-related repairs as needed. The technician documents work performed using the work order system, maintains tools and work areas, follows safety and regulatory requirements, and provides professional, customer-focused service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while collaborating with facilities staff and contractors. Performs other duties as required and assigned.
Applicants should exhibit customer service skills with a professional, confidential, and positive personality. This position is for dayshift (M-F), but may require some flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends. Must also be able to lift, push or pull up heavy items; working conditions require standing, bending, kneeling, use of stairs and ladders, and use of protective clothing/equipment.
A post-job-offer physical exam and background check will be required (scheduled and paid by the College).
